A lot of insiders and experts don't believe the recent hype that's pitting one of the biggest heavyweights in boxing against a top player in MMA, per an article from the The Su. Still, that's stopping neither Floyd Mayweather nor Conor McGregor from fanning the flames of a rumored match that could break the internet.
First, Mayweather, when asked about the subject yesterday, told FightHype.com, "It's possible. It was a name that was shot at me. The rumors that y'all been hearing is the rumors that I started. It may not be a rumor, keep y'all fingers crossed, it may be a boxer versus an MMA fighter." He then implied that the dollar figure that'd get the conversation going is "$100 million or better."
Early this morning, McGregor posted a Photoshop job depicting a fictitious fight poster to both his Instagram page and Twitter account, captioned, "MMA vs. Boxing."
